SMC Networks launched its first Wireless Internet mobile phone, SMC WSKP100 Wi-Fi Phone for Skype. The WiFi phone includes Skype software which allows free calls to Skype users anywhere in the world and enables calling to ordinary landlines and mobile phones using SkypeOut at a very low cost. It delivers 3 hours continuous talk-time and 30 hour standby time from its internal Li-Ion Battery which can be recharged from any USB enabled socket. The new SMC WiFi Phone will be available in Q3 2006. SRP will be $230 USD.

AsusTek revealed their new slim camera mobile phone, Asus V80 which is one of the slimmest mobile phones in today’s market. It boasts a 2.0 Inch TFT LCD with resolutions of 176 x 220 pixels, 2.0MP built-in digital camera with auto focus function, flashlight, and macro shot. Macro shot feature allows you to get a 10cm close-up shot. Other features include MP3, MPEG4 video record, FM radio, speaker amplifier, flight mode and song lyrics. It has also a 55MB of built-in memory with mini SD memory card slot for extra storage. In addition, its phone book can store up to 1000 numbers and 9 quick dials. AsusTek claims that Asus V80 has an up to 5 hours of talking time. The V80 works well at 850/900/1800/1900 GSM networks.

Samsung SGH-E870 clamshell phone attracts more female buyers than male. This USD330 handphone is a tri-band clamshell GSM phone that features a large 256K color TFT LCD with resolutions of 176 x 220 and an extra external OLED display with resolutions of 96 x 80. Moreover, it has a 1.3MP built-in digital camera, speaker phone for conferencing, MP3 playback, video playback, 30 polyphonic ringtones, 1000 phonebook entries, photo call, and an integrated Bluetooth module and USB connection. The SGH-E870 provides 80MB of internal memory that can be expanded via a Transflash/microSD slot. The supported file formats include MP3, AAC, AAC++ and WMA. Samsung claimed that SGH-E870 has up to 5 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. It weights 85 grams with the size of 92 mm x 42 mm x 166 mm.

Nokia confirmed that they are ready to launch the Nokia N73, a stunning multimedia computer with excellent photography features and integrated stereo speakers for audio pleasure. The Nokia N73 has a high-quality 3.2MP auto-focus camera (2048 x 1536 pixels) with Carl Zeiss Lens. The phone’s estimated price is 400 Euro. It is available in three different color combinations: silver grey/deep plum, frost white/metallic red and frost white/mocha brown.
