AT&T To Release TerreStar Genus Cellular / Satellite Smartphone

AT&T in collaboration with TerreStar are set to release their first hybrid smartphone called the TerreStar Genus. This particular smartphone provides access to both AT&T’s network and TerreStar’s satellite network providing users with a wider coverage area. Apart from that, the handset also features a 2.6-inch touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Windows Mobile OS and supports both GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS/HSDPA connectivities. The TerreStar Genus will hit AT&T in Q1 2010 for unannounced price yet. [Press Release]

LG GD510 Mobile Phone With Solar Panel

LG will release the LG GD510 cell phone next month in Europe. The phone comes jam packed with a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 240 x 400, a 3-megapixel camera, and a 8GB of storage space to store your captured pictures or videos. The LG GD510 also has an optional solar panel add-on, which will replace the battery cover with a solar panel for recharging your battery. Sadly, there is no info on pricing so far. [Slashphone]

Philips Introduces X806 And C702 Touchscreen Phones

Philips has introduced two new touchscreen phones to its range in the form of the X806 (pictured above) and C702. The X806 offers a 3.5-inch 240 x 400 TFT display, a 5MP camera, a 47MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. Meanwhile, the C720 is a CDMA 1X phone that features a 3.4-inch QVGA display, a 1.3MP camera, GPS, a 70MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. Both handsets are likely to be released in China pretty soon for unannounced price yet. More

Samsung SCH-W880 12MP Camera Phone

The Samsung SCH-W880 is claimed as “the world’s first 12MP camera phone with a 3x optical zoom.” The handset also features a 6x digital zoom with auto focus, an image stabilization, a face detection, a Xenon flash and 720p video recording at 30fps. Additional specs include a 3.3-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display and a 4GB of internal memory. The Samsung SCH-W880 will be available in South Korea next month. [SamsungHub]

Still remember the LG BL20 Chocolate that we posted last week? LG today confirmed the handset. According to LG’s own website, the slider will be available very soon for about €269 ($393). The LG BL20 Chocolate features a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with 262k colors (240 × 320 resolution), a 5MP shooter with Autofocus and LED flash, a built-in FM radio, and a media player that supports WMA, AMR, MIDI, AAC, AAC+, MP3, 3GP.
