Intex Technologies has recently dropped a new budget-friendly phone ‘IN 6622’ for the Indian market. Priced at just Rs.4800 (about $104), this low-end phone offers a 7.1-cm TFT display, a 2MP camera, dual SIM card slots, a microSD card slot (up to 2GB), an audio/video player, an FM radio, a sound/video recorder, a mobile tracker, Bluetooth, an 800 mAh battery and supports GPRS connectivity. FCC Approved Toshiba TG02 Smartphone

FCC has approved the successor to the Toshiba TG01 smartphone. Dubbed as the Toshiba TG02, the phone sports WiFI 802.11b/g and Bluetooth connectivity. However, the Toshiba TG02 doesn’t support 3G. RIM has just announced the availability of BlackBerry Bold 9700 in India. The handset is available through most Indian mobile carriers including Airtel, Reliance, Vodafone, Tata, Idea Cellular, BSNL, Aircel, MTNL and Loop Mobile. To refresh your memory, the 9700 sports a 2.4-inch 480 x 360 display, a 3.2MP camera, a 624MHz processor, a 256MB flash memory, a microSD card slot, a full QWERTY keyboard, a touch-sensitive optical trackpad, GPS, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on BlackBerry OS 5.0. Samsung S5620 Monte Picture Unveiled

Samsung will release a successor to the previously released Samsung S5600 Preston. Known as the Samsung S5620 Monte, this handset will feature a 3-inch touchscreen display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS support and a microSD memory card slot. The S5620 Monte will also support Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. No word on when the Samsung S5620 Monte will be available for purchase. We will keep you posted. More

Samsung Galaxy 2 Uses Android

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy 2 will be powered by Google’s Android OS, possibly Android 2.1. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, a 32GB internal memory, GPS and WiFi. This handset is a good competitor for the Nexus One and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Expected release date is Q2 2010 but we are sure Samsung will make the official announcement at MWC in Barcelona next month. [Androphones]

Colorful KDDI Lotta Handsets

KDDI and Okinawa cellular have collaborated to launch three new colorful clamshell handsets. Dubbed as the Lotta (Produced by Kyocera), these cell phones will be available in White, Green, and Yellow and each one is represented with an embedded number 3, 7 and 5, respectively.
