AT&T will release the BlackBerry Torch (also known as the BlackBerry 9800) on August 12th, 2010 for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. The smartphone is powered by a 624Mhz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with flash, a 512MB RAM, a 512MB ROM, a built-in GPS, a 4GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, BlackBerry OS 6 and a full QWERTY keyboard. The new OS enables syncing music over Wi-Fi rather than just using the Media Sync conduit app with iTunes or Windows Media Player. Messaging fans are served by a new version of BlackBerry Messenger that supports up to 10 simultaneous people and locations. The Torch is also the first BlackBerry to finally have App World already pre-installed. Each purchase comes with a 4GB microSD memory card. [Electronista]
