The CECT A1000 is a mobile phone which provides 1000 hours standby time. It packs with a 2.2 Inch QVGA display screen, 4MP camera and multimedia player which support media file format such as MP3, MPEG4 and 3GPP. It carries a huge 2000 mAh battery. The phone doesn’t have a keypad but use a stylus for all the input operations. Unfortunately, this phone doesn’t have Bluetooth and IrDA connectivity. The dual band GSM 900 /1800 MHz A1000 will be sold only in China.

SMC Networks launched its first Wireless Internet mobile phone, SMC WSKP100 Wi-Fi Phone for Skype. The WiFi phone includes Skype software which allows free calls to Skype users anywhere in the world and enables calling to ordinary landlines and mobile phones using SkypeOut at a very low cost. It delivers 3 hours continuous talk-time and 30 hour standby time from its internal Li-Ion Battery which can be recharged from any USB enabled socket. The new SMC WiFi Phone will be available in Q3 2006. SRP will be $230 USD.

VIPN, a Swiss-manufacturer, has confirmed the availability of “Black Diamond” Smartphone. The smartphone is designed by Jaren Goh, a Singaporean designer which is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 and features a 2 Inch display, 400MHz XScale processor, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 128MB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot, and a touch-sensitive keypad. The device is a limited edition since its only 5 units available. Jaren Goh’s “Black Diamond” Smartphone will cost $300,000 and It will go on sale next year.

Google Vision Concept Phone is designed by Callum Peden, a designer from UK. It is a cellphone with built-in GPS that scrolls out to reveal a flexible screen. This phone will be to use image recognition and GPS data to tell you what you’re looking at. The good news of this concept phone is that Google only need to buy the technology and put them all together since all the technology needed to build this phone are already exists.
