Bell customers should be happy to know that Bell is ready to release the Palm Pre. The carrier has recently released a new ad for the smartphone. More News on Palm Eos

It seems that Compal Communications, the company that will manufacture the Eos for Palm, is ready to release the entry-level smartphone in October 2009. The Palm Eos will be produced about 400,000 to 500,000 units. Meanwhile, the CDMA version of Eos will be shipped in the first quarter of 2010. Stay tuned for more updates. Palm WebOS 1.1 Launched

Palm today launched the new update for its WebOS platform. The Palm webOS 1.1 re-enables Palm media sync, so you will have seamless access to your music, photos and videos from the current version of iTunes (8.2.1). The new update also includes a few other goodies for everyone including support for emoticons in the messaging app, enhanced Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) support, the ability to set “person reminders” in the contacts app, and a new application (Sprint’s NFL Mobile Live). Palm is back with its new webOS phone known as the Palm Eos, a 10.6mm thin handset that will soon make its way to AT&T. This ultra thin smartphone offers a 2.63-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 400 resolution, a 2MP fixed-focus camera with flash and video recording, music & video players, SMS, MMS, built-in IM client, A-GPS, a 4GB of internal memory, a micro USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP and EDR and supports Quad-band GSM/HSDPA connectivity. It’s said that the Palm Eos will be priced at $349 before rebates, but sadly, no word on availability yet. [Engadget]
