The Allure Brown version of Sony Ericsson K800i will be available exclusively in the Hong Kong and Taiwan region starting September. The Sony Ericsson K800i is the first handsets to carry the Cyber-shot brand. Its integrated 3.2MP digital camera comes with Autofocus, Xenon flash and BestPic feature. K800 is a dual-mode UMTS/GPRS phone. No info on pricing yet.

The FCC has approved the Sony Ericsson W712a and Z712a clamshells. Both cellphones are GSM/EDGE devices and support 2MP digital cameras, rich multimedia playback capabilities, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.0, and Memory Stick Micro (M2) slots. The W712a is a music phone since it belongs to the Walkman series. No news on pricing and availability yet.

The Sony Ericsson V630i UMTS phone provides a 1.9 inch TFT display, a 2.0MP camera, 256MB M2 card, Bluetooth EDR, music player, USB charging capabilities, USB 2.0 connectivity, dedicated music keys, and mobile TV through Vodafone Live. This phone is a Vodafone Group exclusive handset. Its music player plays MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ file format. Sony Ericsson V630i sells for $574 in Germany.

The Sony Ericsson K618i is a tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM phone with benefits of UMTS (2100) and 3G. It has a TFT 1.9 inch 262k color display (176×220 pixels), a 2.0MP digital camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also supports for A2DP, which means you can use this handset with your stereo Bluetooth headphones. The phone comes with a default 256MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) so you can store up to 230 music tracks and over 700 photos. Its music player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ playbacks. The K618 will be available in selected markets from Q3 2006. No word on the pricing as yet.

DoCoMo and Sony Ericsson released a new Waterproof phone the Sony Ericsson SO902iWP+. The waterproof SO902iWP+ can receive calls underwater and comes with an MP3 player and 1.3MP digital camera. That’s right. This phone can receive calls underwater but how do you suppose you’ll listen to it with water in your ear? People who spend a lot of time around water would the target market for this phone such as boaters, lifeguards, and aquarium cleaners. Or perhaps this phone is compatible with those who always drop their phone in toilets or pools.
