Toshiba has rolled out the Regza T-02D Android smartphone in the Japanese market. Powered by the Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the smartphone includes a 4.3-inch AMOLED Plus touchscreen display with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor, a 1GB of RAM and a superb 13.1-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R sensor. KDDI has unveiled three new Android-powered smartphones in the form of the Toshiba REGZA Phone IS04, the Sharp IS05 and the Pantech SIRIUSα IS06. The Toshiba REGZA Phone IS04 is known as Toshiba’s first Android smartphone for the Japanese market. The handset features a 4-inch display screen with a 854×480 resolution, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 1Seg TV Tuner, a microSDHC slot, a 12.19MP camera, WI-Fi, Bluetooth and KDDI’s new WIN HIGH SPEED data connection with up to 9.2Mbps downstream and up to 5.5Mbps upstream.
The Sharp IS05 comes with an 8MP AutoFocus camera with the ability to record 720p video, a 3.4-inch display screen with a 854×480 resolution, a microsSDHC card slot, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 1Seg TV Tuner, WiFi and Bluetooth. And finally, the Pantech SIRIUSα IS06 boasts a 3.4-inch display screen (800×480), a 1Seg TV Tuner, a microSDHC card slot and a 5MP AutoFocus camera. The Toshiba IS02 is now available in Japan via au KDDI. The handset is also known as the Toshiba K01. The phone is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3G, a 4.1-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with customized NX! UI, a 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM, a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a business card reader. Too bad, there is no info on pricing. [TechTicker]

FCC has approved the successor to the Toshiba TG01 smartphone. Dubbed as the Toshiba TG02, the phone sports WiFI 802.11b/g and Bluetooth connectivity. However, the Toshiba TG02 doesn’t support 3G. Japanese mobile phone operator, KDDI has introduced a new clamshell phone from Toshiba namely the E08T. Featuring a waterproof enclosure, the E08T offers a 3-inch FWVGA display, a 3.2MP camera with autofocus, a 100MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, GPS, infrared, BREW OS and supports both GSM and CDMA connectivities.
