Pantech Japan has just released the new Spring collection from KDDI shops. One of many Pantech models geared towards women, comes in three colors: white, pink, and black as well as a 2.4 inches screen, 2 megapixels Digital Camera, MicroSD port, etc. Price and other specs are still unknown. China has released a TV phone called the Tai Xing C1000. It comes with not only a TV that supports multi-channel but also a 3.0-inch display with handwritten input, a 1.3-megapixel back camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera, 128MB internal memory, FM radio, Bluetooth, microSD slot and support MP3/MP4 playback. $162
Sony Ericsson will release a couple radio cell phones soon. The R300 and R306 both have loudspeakers for the radio (stereo on R306 Radio) and preset channel buttons for easy switching of radio channels. Other features include: 3D sound, volume boost, and the ability to set radio as alarm clock and record a clip. The 300 Radio GSM/GPRS phone also has a VGA camera while the R306 has a 1.3-megapixel camera as well as TrackID which can identify your music. The R300 comes in steel black and an antique copper and will be available in the second quarter 2008 while the R306 will come in coffee black and champagne white. No word on pricing so far.
Here is a concept phone called P-Per by the Chocolate design agency. Not only was it awarded for it’s red dot concept design but for its additional features such as: 4 layers of sustainable materials, the “1 function 1 part and 1 material” rule that makes the phone easy to recycle. Take it back to the 70’s with this retro cell phone that features wood paneling and an external remote that controls the functions of the phone. It’s not exactly convenient but it’s definitely retro, which means it’s hip. But, sorry hipsters, it’s only a concept from Yanko Design.
