KDDI Releases Kyocera DIGNO Waterproof Smartphone

KDDI is ready to release the Kyocera DIGNO in the Japanese market. Measuring 8.7mm thick and weighing 30 grams, the waterproof handset supports WiMAX and 3G, allowing user to enjoy up to 40Mbps of download speed. Powered by the Google Android 2.3 OS, the Kyocera DIGNO features an OLED display with toughened glass to make it more durable, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing VGA camera, mobile TV support, mobile wallet service, and infrared data transmission. Available in black, green, and pink, the KDDI Kyocera DIGNO will be launched in December 2011. [Akihabara]
