The Nokia 6131 is expected to hit Cingular outlets soon. This phone provides a 2.2 inch 240 x 320 pixel display, 1.3MP digital camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and a music player. The package includes the handset, a battery, manuals, CD and handsfree, which can be used both for making calls and listening to the FM Radio or music stored on the phone. The FCC has approved the Sony Ericsson W712a and Z712a clamshells. Both cellphones are GSM/EDGE devices and support 2MP digital cameras, rich multimedia playback capabilities, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.0, and Memory Stick Micro (M2) slots. The W712a is a music phone since it belongs to the Walkman series. No news on pricing and availability yet.

HTC Artemis smartphone features trackball navigation, built-in GPS receiver, a 2.0MP digital camera, quad-band GSM / EDGE support, TI OMAP 850 CPU at 200 MHz, 128MB RAM, 64MB ROM, microSD card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, an FM tuner, and 802.11b Wi-Fi. It is HTC’s first GPS-enabled Pocket PC phone. No word on pricing and availability. However, this smartphone is expected to be launched by the end of Q3 2006.

The Motorola W220 cellphone received FCC’s seal of approval. This clamshell W220 is one of the entry-level color display phones from Motorola. It has no on-board camera or Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, the phone features 128×128 CSTN color display, an integrated FM receiver, and a WAP 2.0 compliant web browser. It is capable of sending MMS/SMS messages. The Motorola W220 is on target for a Q3 2006 release.
