Samsung hits ITU Telecom World 2006 opening day today in Hong Kong with their Ultra series of cellphones, including the Ultra Music’s F300, the Ultra Video’s F500, and the Ultra Messaging’s i600 smartphone.
The Ultra Music F300 features a screen on the front, a conventional candy bar phone keypad on the other side, a built-in Bang & Olufsen-designed digital amplifier, a 2MP shooter, and a miniSD slot for 2GB more storage.
The F500 is the expert in video playback since it supports DivX (Digital Internet Video Express) codec and some video files including MPEG4, H.264, WMV and AVI formats. This phone is the first cellphone that can play DivX movies. Other features include its 2.4-inch swiveling screen, 400MB of internal memory or up to 2GB on a microSD card, and a 2MP digital camera.
Another member of the Ultra line is the Ultra Messaging i600, which is an HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) smartphone running Windows Mobile 5.0. The phone features QWERTY keypad, and supports push e-mail and various web applications such as Podcasting, RSS Reader and Google Talk. You can use its secondary camera on the front for the video conference. The i600 is touted as the world’s slimmest messaging phone.
