Sony Ericsson today introduced a new GPS-enabled phone namely the Sony Ericsson U10i. The UMTS HSPA phone comes jam packed with an 8.1MP digital camera with flash, a slide-out keypad, a microSD cards for storage expansions, a full touch screen display, Bluetooth, and a 1000mAh removable battery. The handset is also known as the Aino, which is ready to hit the U.S. market in the fourth quarter of this year. [Navigadget]

Sony Ericsson U10i – DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! I hate it. Touch screen stopped working after two days. It is very slow between screens. The battery lasts about four hours and as far as I can tell I have everything that uses energy turned off. The camera might be 8 meg but you’d better have patience and a steady hand if you want a good photo. Even worse at night.
Defintely rushed. Or at least Sony Ericsson did not care enough about quality control. I cannot believe that they did not know of its problems before releasing. They can’t respect their customers. I will never buy a Sony Ericson again. I have had this useless phone for two weeks and am already researching a replacement. Not sure whether I will disrespect my friends enough to give it away. I will probably throw against the floor. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. If you like the features, buy a chinese knock off, it can’t be any worse and may come with slots for two sim cards. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! Should be rebadged as Anus instead of Aino!
Hi,
I read quite a few comments on this phone from various sites both good and bad.I was trying to decide to buy the Aino or Vivaz. In HK, both phones are almost same priced but Aino comes with a BT headphone (approx US$320). I finally bought the Aino. To my supprise, all bad things said about this phone was not all true. The camera was great taking 2.5-3.0 MB photos.outdoor. Listening to MP3 thru the BT headphone was very impressive and radio reception was excellent. I charged the phone for a little more than 8 hours the first time and after a full days use, the battery was still 94% full (you can check by pressing the volume switch briefly. This also show the amount of memory left in your phone and memory card. The phone can be charged by USB cable that comes with the phone. I have never gotten used to using full touch screens as texting is a nightmare. This phone is perfect for me and I do not regret making this choice. I am not a phone expert but rather a computer freak. I have started building my own computers since Win95. I personally believe internet browsing is by computer. What can one see even thru a 4″ screen? I will be glad to answer any question on this phone and don’t worry, I am not from SE.
