You are lucky if you are living in South Korea because Apple’s iPhone 3G S will be released via KTF, the country’s second largest carrier. Kim Yeon-hak, KT Group’s CFO, has confirmed the availability of the highly anticipated smartphone in Korea. Sadly, there is no info on pricing or release date so far. T-Mobile USA today announced its special pre-sale program for the myTouch 3G Android smartphone. Customers who order the handset from July 8th until July 28th can qualify for myTouch 3G delivery before the national retail launch on August 5th, 2009. T-Mobile customers are also able to pre-order myTouch 3G in limited quantities beginning today at T-Mobile site. The myTouch 3G Android smartphone will be available nationwide at T-Mobile retail stores and online beginning August 5th, 2009 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement. [Android Community]
The Meizu M8 3G specifications have been unveiled. The handset supports TD-SCDMA (M8-G3) and WCDMA (M8-W) networks, a Samsung C100 or C110 (800MHz or 1GHz) processor, a 3.54-inch display at 720 x 480 resolution, a fast USB 2.0 connectivity, a 8GB or 16GB flash memory, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. Samsung provides their latest TV phone, the GT-I6320C, for the Chinese 3G Network, TD-HSDPA TD-SCDMA 3G and CMMB. There is nothing special since this technology only supports up to 2.8Mbps. It seems that China needs more years to develop a faster internet connection. [Akihabara]
