
Acer has officially announced the Acer Liquid, which is claimed as the world’s first Android 1.6 high definition smartphone that uses Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The handset is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with a high-definition WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a new user interface with easy access to entertainment and web bookmarks, and an optimized camera with geo-tagging and auto focus. In addition, the Acer Liquid also provides smart integration of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Picasa and Flickr in the address book with realtime notification of status or content updates. Here is good news for those who are living in the US. The Motorola CLIQ is now vailable for pre-order via T-Mobile USA starting on October 19th, 2009 for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. For your info, the handset comes jam packed with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a 3.1-inch HVGA full touch-screen display and a 5MP digicam with autofocus, a 3.5mm headset jack, a music player and a pre-installed 2GB microSD memory card with support for up to 32GB of removable memory. LG has announced their first Android-based smartphone. Previously known as “Etna”, the new LG-GW620 boasts a 3-inch full touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keypad to meet the growing needs of consumers who rely on their mobile phones for more than just making calls. The phone will be available in the fourth quarter of this year in select European markets. Unfortunately, there is no info on when this handset will be available in the US market. HTC will release another Google Android powered smartphone, the HTC Tattoo, in Europe in October 2009. The handset will features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen LCD with a resolution of 240 x 320, HTC’s Sense UI, a 3.2MP shooter with auto-focus, a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, and a 512MB of RAM. The phone also supports Quad band GSM/EDGE, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a built in GPS, a digital compass and an accelerometer. No info on pricing so far. [Geeky Gadgets]

The first Android smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy i7500, will be launched via O2 stores next week. FYI, the smartphone features a 528MHz Qualcomm processor and supports for 7.2Mbps HSDPA, an 8GB of internal storage, and a 3.2-inch AMOLED display. T-Mobile USA today announced its special pre-sale program for the myTouch 3G Android smartphone. Customers who order the handset from July 8th until July 28th can qualify for myTouch 3G delivery before the national retail launch on August 5th, 2009. T-Mobile customers are also able to pre-order myTouch 3G in limited quantities beginning today at T-Mobile site.
