
Word has it that the upcoming iPhone 5 will feature an 8-megapixel camera. Sony chief Sir Howard Stringer has confirmed in an interview that the company’s camera sensor plant in Sendai had been hit by the Japanese earthquake, so the shipment of camera sensors to Apple would be delayed. Apple has recently released a new iPhone 4′s TV advertisement, which is part of its “If you don’t have an iPhone” series. Entitled “Game Center,” the short video shows the gaming capabilities of the new handset such as Apple’s Game Center social gaming network. The video also concludes with the announcer saying, “If you don’t have an iPhone, well, you don’t have an iPhone.” The new advertisement is currently available for viewing on Apple’s website. Verizon has sent emails to all of their existing customers, stating that Apple’s iPhone 4 will be launch on February 3rd, 2011, which is tomorrow. Sales will start at 3 AM Eastern. Verizon Wireless, the largest North American network carrier, will be announced its own iPhone 4 on January 11, 2011. Verizon and Apple will hold an event on January 11, 2011 in New York, where a CDMA version of the iPhone should be officially unveiled.
