
Casio has released their latest rugged cell phone for Verizon Wireless. Known as the Casio G’zOne Rock, the clamshell phone meets mil-spec 810F compliance for high shock, vibration, water, dust, and extreme temperatures. The phone also features touch-sensitive music controls, thermometer, compass, pedometer, a 2MP digicam with Flash, Stereo Bluetooth, GPS, and EV-DO REV A support. LG Electronics has recently announced that they will launch its new LG GW550 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS in twenty countries starting in Brazil and Argentina. Designed for professionals, this slim candybar phone features a 2.4-inch LCD screen, a 3.2MP shooter, Wi-Fi support, a-GPS and front-facing QWERTY keyboard. The LG GW550 also supports ‘Smart E-mail’ and ‘Smart Contact’ functions, and adopts a high-performance dual-speaker. [AVING]

Nokia today introduced their latest Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition that comes jam packed with a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 x 240) screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and a built-in DVB-H technology to take advantage of mobile TV. This slider phone provides Nokia’s Comes with Music service allowing users to enjoy a free and unlimited access to millions of music tracks. The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is also perfect for social networking software addicts because the phone comes equipped with all the latest social networking software including Ovi Contacts, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. The Palm Pixi is now available via Sprint. As a reminder, the phone comes jam packed with a 2.63-inch (320×400) touchscreen display, a 2MP fixed-focus camera with LED flash, a full QWERTY keypad, and access to the Palm Beta App Catalog, which includes entertainment and social networking applications like Yelp and Local Concerts by iLike. LCD monitors manufacturer ViewSonic has entered the cell phones market by releasing the VPC08. Powered by an Intel ULV processor, this new clamshell phone sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with a QWERTY keyboard, a 8GB of internal memory and a 512MB RAM. Other specs including a 2-inch secondary display and a 2-megapixel shooter. According to rumors, the ViewSonic VPC08 will retail for around $800 a pop. The release date is unavailable so far. More
