
Looks like Chanel is trying to get into something other than fashion with this new concept phone. The Chanel Coco phone concept by Fred de Garilhe features a lower sliding part that has the display and the function buttons while the upper-piece has the numeric pad. When not in use, all the user interface elements disappear to reveal a pure shiny surface.

Sony Ericsson has made some phone concepts: the full touchscreen X890i and the Cyber-shot concepts. The back of the X890i looks like it would give the iPhone some competition. Unfortunately these wont be releasing on the market.

Here is a concept phone called P-Per by the Chocolate design agency. Not only was it awarded for it’s red dot concept design but for its additional features such as: 4 layers of sustainable materials, the “1 function 1 part and 1 material” rule that makes the phone easy to recycle. Take it back to the 70′s with this retro cell phone that features wood paneling and an external remote that controls the functions of the phone. It’s not exactly convenient but it’s definitely retro, which means it’s hip. But, sorry hipsters, it’s only a concept from Yanko Design.

The Freedom phone is the first prepaid phone that lets users purchase 60 / 100 / 200 minutes of airtime without needing a SIM card. Such Features like an LCD display and camera were not included to keep it cheap. No word on availability right now.
