Esato user tob!s has designed the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X5 (codename: Nadine) concept as the successor to the Android-powered Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3. The phone comes jam packed with a futuristic QWERTY slider, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 12-megapixel camera with auto-focus and Xenon flash, HD video recording and access to Sony Ericsson’s App Store. The XPERIA X5 will be available in Chrome Silver, Ocean Blue and Sunny Orange. More
Designer Seunghan Song has creatively designed the Universal Phone, which is specially designed for both blind and sighted people. The phone features thousands of micro pins that dynamically raise and lower forming a tactile surface for all to get touchy with. This brilliant idea was inspired by the little raised dot on the number 5 on almost all mobile keypads. Too bad, it is only a concept. More
Here’s what may be the future of cell phones from Kyocera. The concept phone can be folded like a wallet and when it unfolds it can either reveal the keypad or transform into a bigger screen. During calls the phone can remain folded but it can unfold to reveal the OLED screen and QWERTY keyboard anytime. Designed by Susan McKinney, it has a flexible keyboard with shape memory, so that the keys pop up for use but can blend into the surface when not being used. The phone also uses small piezoelectric generators that derive energy from human interaction. The more you fiddle with the phone, the more energy is generated. Awesome. Green. Tech! More
Sean Park has designed the Aqua Liquid cellphone featuring liquid fuel cell technology which is fully recyclable. Its e-ink display requires less power than normal displays when used, giving the phone longer battery span. Unfortunately, the Aqua Liquid phone is only a concept but the specs look very promising. More
