This portable charger can be unfolded into a flower shape, where each of the petals features a solar panel. In addition, the device also functions as an iPhone stand. Samsung is ready to launch their “green” mobile phone, in addition to the existing Blue Earth and Crest Solar. Known as the Samsung S5500E Lydford, it is a slider made out of recycled materials and packaged in recycled paper. The phone has an alarm that lets you know when the phone’s battery is fully charged. The Samsung S5500E Lydford comes equipped with a 2.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of QVGA, a 3-megapixel camera and a slot for microSD memory card. The phone also supports wireless Bluetooth interface and cellular GSM and UMTS / HSDPA. No word on pricing or availability so far. More

Sean Park has designed the Aqua Liquid cellphone featuring liquid fuel cell technology which is fully recyclable. Its e-ink display requires less power than normal displays when used, giving the phone longer battery span. Unfortunately, the Aqua Liquid phone is only a concept but the specs look very promising.
