
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz (or also known as the Sony Ericsson Kurara U5) has been approved by the FCC and will be known as the Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5a. The phone supports the UMTS II and V bands (1900MHz and 850MHz), which means those who are subscribing to AT&T and Rogers are able to use the Vivaz U5a on their 3G networks. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5a runs on the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS and features a 3.2-inch (360 x 640) touchscreen display, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, a GPS navigation system, a built-in accelerometer, Google Maps, Facebook and Twitter integration, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 720MHz processor, an 8GB memory card and an 8-megapixel Auto Focus camera with LED flash and HD video recording. FCC has approved the successor to the Toshiba TG01 smartphone. Dubbed as the Toshiba TG02, the phone sports WiFI 802.11b/g and Bluetooth connectivity. However, the Toshiba TG02 doesn’t support 3G. FCC has approved another upcoming slider phone from Nokia namely the Nokia 7230. This new handset will work on US 3G bands (850/1900 MHz) and feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, a stereo FM radio, Nokia Maps, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headset jack and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The Almighty FCC has recently approved Acer’s first Android operating smartphone, the Liquid A1. The phone supports 850/1900 MHz HSDPA, which is of course compatible with AT&T’s 3G network. The Acer Liquid A1 comes jam packed with a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, a 3.5mm jack and a social networking access. The FCC has recently approved a new unannounced ZTE phone, namely the ZTE X990. The phone features a QWERTY keypad, a landscape display, Bluetooth, an MP3 player, an FM radio, a Web browser with a dedicated key, a 2MP camera, a MicroSD card slot and a 3.5mm headset jack. The FCC has recently approved the LG GW620 Etna, which means that this handset will be available stateside very soon. FYI, the LG GW620 is an Android-powered cell phone that features a 320 x 480 resolution display with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera with Autofocus, GPS navigation support, an integrated FM tuner, and a microSD card slot.
