Garmin-Asus will launch the nuvifone M20 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.5 as its operating system. The smartphone will be released later this year in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Turkey Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Czech Republic. If you have the M20 with Windows Mobile 6.1, you can upgrade your handset to Windows Mobile 6.5 on Garmin-Asus’ website free of charge. Garmin-Asus has finally and officially released its Nuvifone G60 phone. The G60 will be available in Taiwan on July 27, 2009. Meanwhile, the phone will be also released in Singapore and Malaysia in August 2009. Also in August, Garmin-Asus will launch the Windows Mobile Nuvifone M20 smartphone in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. There is no info on pricing of these handsets. The Garmin Asus Nuviphone M20 will be released later this year. The company also announces the Nuviphone G60, that features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, built-in accelerometer, pre-loaded maps of your region, a 3MP shooter with geo-tagging ability and Ciao! location-based social tool. Unusually, Garmin which is a GPS company, is releasing a phone with an awesome interface. It features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, High Speed 3G access, Google Local search, and geotagging capability with the camera. No word on pricing or availability, but when it comes out the iPhone might have some competition.
