First announced back in March, Gigabyte’s latest Android smartphone ‘GSmart G1305‘ has finally arrived in Russia. To remind you, the handset boasts a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display, a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, a 5MP autofocus camera, a 256MB RAM, a 256MB of internal memory, a microSD/SDHC card slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on Android 1.6 OS. Gigabyte will launch two new smartphones in Ukraine, one running on Android 1.6 and another one running on Windows Mobile 6.5. Measuring 116mm x 56.8mm x 12.4 mm, the Android-powered Gigabyte GSmart G1305 Codfish features Quad-band GSM connectivity, tri-band HSDPA connectivity (900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), WiFi, GPS, a 3.2-inch HVGA display, a 256MB of RAM and a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor. Meanwhile, the Windows Mobile 6.5-powered Gigabyte GSmart S1205 Cougar is a dual SIM smartphone that features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, Quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity, WiFi, GPS, a 128MB of RAM, and a 416MHz processor. According to rumors, the computer maker Gigabyte may be interested to manufacture Android smartphones in the near future. Gigabyte and Taiwanese AboCom Systems are both in talks with Vibo for producing handsets based on Google’s Android platform. However, there is no official confirmation from Gigabyte so far. The MW702 and MS802 are two new handsets from Gigabyte from the GSmart range. Both PDA phones shares the same specifications including Marvell PXA270 520MHz processor with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, a 2.8 inch 65k color TFT LCD at 240 x 320 resolution, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, GPS navigation, 3MP camera with autofocus, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, Mini USB 2.0 port and microSD memory card slot. The Gigabyte GSmart MW702 offers EDGE, meanwhile the Gigabyte GSmart MS802 supports HSDPA connectivity. These handsets will be available soon in Hungary. [Slashphone]
Gigabyte Communications will launch the new T600 cellphone sometime next month in Taiwan. The device offers support for digital TV standards (DVB-T and DVB-H) and DAB radio. For your info, the T600 is the first handset from Gigabyte Communications to feature a 640 x 480 VGA display. It will be available in black or white. Pricing is still in mystery.
