
Sony Ericsson today introduced a new GPS-enabled phone namely the Sony Ericsson U10i. The UMTS HSPA phone comes jam packed with an 8.1MP digital camera with flash, a slide-out keypad, a microSD cards for storage expansions, a full touch screen display, Bluetooth, and a 1000mAh removable battery. The handset is also known as the Aino, which is ready to hit the U.S. market in the fourth quarter of this year. [Navigadget]

Two new smartphones from HTC have been unveiled. The HTC Mega and HTC Click will be launched sometime in October 2009. The HTC Mega features Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, a GPS navigation, a 3-megapixel camera and a 2.8-inch QVGA display. A Korean manufacturer Point-I is supposedly working on the “TocToc” GPS, an add-on that would provide the same kind of functionality offered by onboard GPS receivers with map support. The Garmin Asus Nuviphone M20 will be released later this year. The company also announces the Nuviphone G60, that features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, built-in accelerometer, pre-loaded maps of your region, a 3MP shooter with geo-tagging ability and Ciao! location-based social tool. The FCC has approved the Pharos Traveler 117. It is a GPS navigator that will be released in the US. This PDA smartphone is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and 400MHz Qualcomm MSM7201 processor. The gadget also offers Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), Tri band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity (850/1900/2100 MHz), a 2.8 inch resistive TFT touchscreen display with 480 x 640 pixels, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 2MP camera.
