Nokia's Eco Friendly Bicycle Charger Kit

Nokia has introduced the Bicycle Charger kit that consists of a DC-14 phone charger, a phone holder for your bicycle, a Bottle Dynamo, and everything you need to install it on our bicycle. The gadget will charge your phone’s battery when bicycle speed is between 6 km/h and 50 km/h. The charger can be fitted onto any Nokia handset with a 2mm charger jack, such as the Nokia E72 or Nokia X6. The Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit will be released in Q4 2010 for €15 ($18.5). The Aeolus Phone concept by industrial designer Cyrene Quiamco allows users to charge their cell phone anywhere at any time. The concept uses renewable energy such as wind power and solar power to charge its integrated battery. The Aeolus features a power generating fan that will capture even the slightest breeze to produce energy. There is also a built-in solar panel to recharge the phone’s battery. Cyrene Quiamco claims that the phone can be built from renewable materials. What’s more, the Aeolus can also be attached to a bicycle or on the window of a car with a special tripod in order to capture more energy while you are on the go. More

Sony Ericsson Elm And Hazel Unveiled

The Sony Ericsson Elm and Sony Ericsson Hazel have officially announced as Sony Ericsson’s newest GreenHeart phones. Both handsets are made of recycled plastics and free from hazardous chemicals. The Hazel and Elm also feature a Walk Mate eco application, a green calculator and a low power consumption charger (called EP300 GreenHeart).

The Sony Ericsson Elm is a candybar with a curved case that features a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Maps, “10 days free weather forecast with Accuweather”, “clear voice and intelligent volume adaptation”, social networking integration (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter), push email, a 5MP autofocus camera with Led flash, a 280MB of internal memory, and a MicroSD card support. It will be available starting the first quarter of 2010 in Metal Black and Pearly Rose. Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson Hazel is a slider phone with a 2.6-inch QVGA display. The phone will be available from Q2 2010 in Superior Black and Passionate Rouge.

Both the Elm and Hazel are splash resistant and are offered together with the Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-60J (also part of the GreenHeart family of products). Additionally, Sony Ericsson has also announced the Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700, which features Intelligent Voice adaptation. The Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700 will be available starting the second quarter of 2010. More
