The first jailbreaking tool for the iPhone 3GS has been released. Developer George Hotz has recently released the Purplera1n jailbreak software for iPhone 3GS that seems to work perfectly. The software runs on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, and additionally requires iTunes 8.2 and iPhone 3.0. A Mac version of the software is said to be “coming soon.” The author warns that the Jailbreak is a beta, so you should backup any important iPhone data before attempting to crack the phone’s security. A new problem has been discovered with the sound files on the brand new iPhone 3GS. The iPhone emits a high-frequency tone (around 15KHz) after playing the unlock sound, SMS sound, etc. Since most people cannot hear frequencies as high as that, it has gone unnoticed for a while.
