KDDI has launched one of its latest products from its iida designer brand, dubbed the X-RAY. This phone features a translucent red case that is also available in blue and black. The KDDI X-RAY uses the QSD8650 CDMA-ready Snapdragon chip and features a GSM radio, a 1-Seg TV tuner, NFC payment support, an 8-megapixel camera and a 7 x 102 pixel LED scrolling sub-display. KDDI has unveiled three new Android-powered smartphones in the form of the Toshiba REGZA Phone IS04, the Sharp IS05 and the Pantech SIRIUSα IS06. The Toshiba REGZA Phone IS04 is known as Toshiba’s first Android smartphone for the Japanese market. The handset features a 4-inch display screen with a 854×480 resolution, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 1Seg TV Tuner, a microSDHC slot, a 12.19MP camera, WI-Fi, Bluetooth and KDDI’s new WIN HIGH SPEED data connection with up to 9.2Mbps downstream and up to 5.5Mbps upstream.
The Sharp IS05 comes with an 8MP AutoFocus camera with the ability to record 720p video, a 3.4-inch display screen with a 854×480 resolution, a microsSDHC card slot, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 1Seg TV Tuner, WiFi and Bluetooth. And finally, the Pantech SIRIUSα IS06 boasts a 3.4-inch display screen (800×480), a 1Seg TV Tuner, a microSDHC card slot and a 5MP AutoFocus camera. KDDI has rolled out the brand new KDDI Light Pool, which is designed for those who are fashion conscious in Japan. Designed by Tsuboi Hironao, the phone features 22 LEDs formed in a triangular shape, which will illuminate in order to display different patterns for a total of 100 choices to choose from. Measuring 110mm x 50mm x 17.8mm and weighing 132 grams, the handset also has a digital camera with an 8.08-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3.2-inch LCD display at VGA resolution and a microSDHC memory card slot (up to 16GB) for storage expansion. Additional specs include Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, a 1Seg TV Tuner and LISMO music and video on demand services. More
The Toshiba IS02 is now available in Japan via au KDDI. The handset is also known as the Toshiba K01. The phone is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3G, a 4.1-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with customized NX! KDDI and Okinawa cellular have collaborated to launch three new colorful clamshell handsets. Dubbed as the Lotta (Produced by Kyocera), these cell phones will be available in White, Green, and Yellow and each one is represented with an embedded number 3, 7 and 5, respectively. For your info, the name “Lotta” means “a lot of fun”. The handset boasts a large 2.8-inch LCD display, a 2MP camera with an LED flash, a microSD card slot for expanding memory and GPS. More
Japanese mobile phone operator, KDDI has introduced a new clamshell phone from Toshiba namely the E08T. Featuring a waterproof enclosure, the E08T offers a 3-inch FWVGA display, a 3.2MP camera with autofocus, a 100MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, GPS, infrared, BREW OS and supports both GSM and CDMA connectivities. The Toshiba E08T will become available in Japan this month for unannounced price yet. [KDDI]
