The FCC has recently approved the LG GW620 Etna, which means that this handset will be available stateside very soon. LG Electronics has recently announced that they will launch its new LG GW550 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS in twenty countries starting in Brazil and Argentina. Designed for professionals, this slim candybar phone features a 2.4-inch LCD screen, a 3.2MP shooter, Wi-Fi support, a-GPS and front-facing QWERTY keyboard. The LG GW550 also supports ‘Smart E-mail’ and ‘Smart Contact’ functions, and adopts a high-performance dual-speaker. [AVING]
LG has come out with another one of its slider phone for the Italian market. Called the GU280 Popcorn, the phone offers a 2-inch 176 x 220 TFT display, a 1.3MP camera, a 20MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 4GB), a music player, Bluetooth and supports both GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) as well as UMTS/HSDPA connectivities. LG has just announced the availability of its GD510 Pop in the UK via Carphone Warehouse. This touchscreen handset is sold for £99.95 (about $166) on pay as you go basis. As a reminder, the GD510 Pop offers a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera, an accelerometer sensor, a music/video player, an FM radio, a Web browser, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity.
