Windows Mobile 6.5 Released On 6th October 2009

Microsoft today confirmed the launch date for the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 or “Windows Phones”. The new software will be released on October 6th, 2009. Here is the official list of carriers and manufacturers around the world who will launch new smartphone using Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.

* In North America: Mobile operators AT&T, Bell Mobility, Sprint, TELUS and Verizon Wireless, and phone manufacturers HP, HTC Corp., LG Electronics, Samsung and Toshiba Corp.
* In Europe: Mobile operators Orange, Deutsche Telekom AG and Vodafone Group Plc, and phone manufacturers Acer, HTC, LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.
* In Latin America: Mobile operator TIM Brazil, and phone manufacturers HTC, LG Electronics and Samsung
* In Asia Pacific: Mobile operators NTT DOCOMO Inc., SOFTBANK Mobile Corp., SK Telecom, Telstra and WILLCOM Inc., and phone manufacturers Acer Inc., HTC, LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba

Microsoft Office Mobile Coming To Nokia's Symbian Smartphones

Nokia has signed an agreement with Microsoft to bring Microsoft Office Mobile to Nokia’s Symbian smartphones. This agreement will enable Microsoft to expand Office Mobile to Nokia smartphone owners worldwide and allow them to collaborate on Office documents from anywhere, as part of Microsoft’s strategy to provide the best productivity experience across the PC, phone and browser. Microsoft Silverlight on Google G1 and Apple iPhone

Microsoft’s Silverlight will be available soon on the Google Android G1 and the iPhone. For your info, Microsoft’s Silverlight has been in use on the Web by companies including NBC to stream video from this summer’s Olympic games and is Adobe Flash’s main contender in the multimedia rich browser plug-ins.
