
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness will not be offered through the usual distribution channels. The phone will be offered through outlets such as Selfridges and other “design museum shops” when it is released in the UK this November. Cathy Davies, Sony Ericsson’s marketing director, said that the Pureness will be positioned more as an “iconic niche product, not mass-market.” The Pureness is priced at £530 each or around $870. Here is a leaked video of the upcoming Nokia Erdos 8800, which is a Symbian S60-powered handset made from a single piece of stainless steal with a piece of glass covering the display. Measuring 116.9mm x 50.3mm x 15mm, the phone also has a rising keypad which matches the display’s level when you slide it open. Additional features include a 2.4-inch OLED display with 320 x 240 pixels and 16-million colors, Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) and dual-band WCDMA connectivity, Wi-Fi, a-GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, a 5MP Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and video recording, and an 8GB of internal memory. LG has announced their first Android-based smartphone. Previously known as “Etna”, the new LG-GW620 boasts a 3-inch full touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keypad to meet the growing needs of consumers who rely on their mobile phones for more than just making calls. The phone will be available in the fourth quarter of this year in select European markets. Unfortunately, there is no info on when this handset will be available in the US market. Nokia has added a new mobile phone to its range namely the Nokia Twist. The handset comes in a unique and novel design. The Twist features a full QWERTY keyboard that twists out from under the screen. Other specs include a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, a 3-megapixel camera, a full HTML browser and a ‘post to blogs’ function that allows you easily upload media to the Internet. Good news for those who are living in Belgium since Samsung will release a limited edition of the Samsung Star S5230, which is also known as the Samsung Star Think Pink. For every handset sold, Samsung will donate €10 to Think Pink Belgium – an organization that fights against breast cancer. The phone comes jam packed with a 3-inch touchscreen display, a built-in accelerometer, a TouchWiz user interface, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP connectivity, an integrated stereo FM radio, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot. The FCC has approved the Nokia 5230, which means that the handset will be available in the US market very soon. The Nokia 5230 provides 900/2100 frequencies on the WCDMA band and supports 3G.
