SeaBright has unveiled the SB6309, which is the world’s first cigarette lighter phone. The phone might be released only in Japan, where about 30 percent of adults can’t get through the day without cigarette. The cigarette lighter is located at the back with the protective cover. You just need to slide back its cover, and press your cigarette onto the glowing part. No info on pricing or availability at this time. More
The Almighty FCC has approved the latest slim smartphone from LG which is known as the LG GW600. It is a Windows mobile-powered smartphone that has high quality features including a resistive touchscreen display, 20-key half-QWERTY keypad, a 3.1-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, proximity sensor, light sensor, accelerometer, and a microSD slot. The phone also supports Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Dual-band WCDMA. The LG GW600 will be released in the States via AT&T very soon. We will keep you posted. More
Nokia and AT&T have officially announced the Nokia Surge, an entry-level S60 handset with slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 3G connectivity. The Nokia Surge has a 2.4-inch (240 x 320) LCD display, a 2MP shooter, A-GPS with AT&T Navigator support, and AT&T Video Share for video calls. In addition, the phone also supports a full messaging suite, including IM, SMS, MMS and email. You can easily upload and share pictures or videos from the phone to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr using JuiceCaster. The browser has Flash support for streaming video, and various mobile music download options such as Napster, eMusic and XM Radio.
The Nokia Surge will be available on AT&T from July 19th, 2009 for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. It will require a two-year agreement on both a voice plan (minimum $39.99) and data plan (minimum $30), which adds up to $1,759.75 over the course of the contract. More
The Apple iPhone 3G camera features only 2-megapixels with Autofocus. This isn’t exactly hot, but it’s better than most camera phones on the market. Don’t expect to make great prints, but these pictures are fine for email and Web sharing. If you want to take some different pictures quality with your iPhone, then check out this iPhone metal and leather case from Factron that allows you attach a Fisheye lens to your iPhone camera. The case features wide-angle, closeup, and fisheye lenses that screw on to the back. The Factron iPhone case is priced at $200 a pop, meanwhile the lens are available from between $18 and $55. More
The Sony Ericsson “Kiki” comes equipped with a unique transparent glasslike display allowing images projected on it can be viewed from both sides of the handset. The handset also boasts a smooth surface keypad on the front, where the numbers should appear only when the phone is turned on. There is no info on the specs of this cell phone.
