
Motorola has finally unveiled specifications on the Motorola Droid smartphone. Measuring 2.4-inch x 4.6-inch x 0.5-inch and weighing at 6-ounces, the cell phone will feature a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854, a 5-megapixel camera with 4x zoom, autofocus and a dual LED flash. Additional features include a 550MHz processor, a 16GB microSD card, GPS, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g WiFi and a micro USB port. Its 1400 mAh Li-ion battery will provide up to 385-minutes of talk time or up to 270-hours of standby time. No info on pricing or availability so far. [Engadget]

Motorola has added a new color option to its Motorola i776 line-up. This clamshell phone is now available in purple in addition to burgundy. As a reminder, the handset features a VGA camera, a built-in GPS receiver and supports Bluetooth connectivity. The Motorola i776 retails for $80 with a contract. [MobileWhack]

Motorola in collaboration with Ferrari have released the Motorola i9 Ferrari edition in Brazil via Nextel. This special edition clamshell phone features the Ferrari logo engraved on its case along with Ferrari wallpapers and screensavers. It also offers two QVGA displays, a 3.1MP camera, external illuminated keys, push-to-talk service, GPS, Bluetooth and a 2GB memory card in the box. Sprint has recently launched another slider phone from Motorola namely the Motorola Debut i856. This compact slider offers push-to-talk service, a full color display with 176 x 220 resolution, a 1.3MP camera with video recording, GPS, a music player, a microSD card slot (up to 8GB), Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack and a speakerphone. Orange has recently announced that they will release the Motorola Dext (Cliq) in the UK on October 7th, 2009. The Motorola Dext will be available free on a two year contract with Orange for £35 ($55) per month. The package will include 900 call minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited Internet browsing and access to Orange Maps. Here is good news for those who are living in the US. The Motorola CLIQ is now vailable for pre-order via T-Mobile USA starting on October 19th, 2009 for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. For your info, the handset comes jam packed with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a 3.1-inch HVGA full touch-screen display and a 5MP digicam with autofocus, a 3.5mm headset jack, a music player and a pre-installed 2GB microSD memory card with support for up to 32GB of removable memory.
