
NTT DoCoMo has expanded its cell phone series by releasing the Fujitsu F-10B. Measuring 114mm x 51mm x 17.3mm and weighing 141grams, this clamshell handset provides a 3.4 inch touchscreen display with a VGA resolution allowing you to write something on pictures and send text messages faster. The phone also supports a 12-megapixel camera with face recognition, Autofocus and a 6.2X super zoom. Other features include GPS, Dolby Mobile for 5.1 channel surround output, HSDPA and GSM for international roaming. The cool factor of the Fujitsu F-10B is that it supports IPX5/7/8 waterproof standards, so you can use it up to 1.5 meters underwater. Sadly, there is no info on pricing so far. More

Nissan and NTT DoCoMo has collaborated to use Nissan’s Scratch Shield for NTT DoCoMo’s mobile phones to be introduced in Japan. FYI, the Scratch Shield is actually the world’s first in paint technology that was commercially introduced in December, 2005. This technology was developed in collaboration with University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials Inc. This self-healing paint is currently applied to certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles worldwide. The Scratch Shield paint self-heals fine scratches and is capable of restoring the vehicles’ paint surfaces overnight or up to a week’s time in more severe cases. This unique self-heal quality of the paint is perfect for mobile phone application, which will make the phone more scratch resistant. [Newlaunches]

Waterproof mobile phone is a big hit in Japan. NTT DoCoMo will release the Smart F-04A, that measures just 12.8mm thin. This waterproof phone also has a 3 inch LCD display at VGA resolution, 0.4 inch sub display, 2 megapixel camera, microSDHC memory card slot, and 1-Seg tuner support. Its battery provides enough juice for 570 hours of standby time and 200 hours of talk time. The handset is available in gold, black, red and blue. [AVING]

NTT DoCoMo comes back with its new slider handset for the Japanese market. Dubbed as the PRIME F-03A phone, it is compatible with Japan’s e-payment system, i-mode and TV streaming. The cell hone also offers a 3.2 inch touchscreen display at 480 x 960 resolution, a 5.2MP autofocus camera with flash, Japanese 7.2Mbps FOMA support, Global 3G support, GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, USB 2.0, an automatic volume control and a microSD memory card slot. NTT DoCoMo has unveiled a new handset that comes equipped with an ultra small LED projector. The projector features “DLP (digital light processing) Pico chipset by Texas Instruments, DMD (digital micromirror device) downsized for mobile use, and consumes about 3W pf power to function. It projects a picture in 480 × 320 (HVGA) resolution with a 7.5 lumens from a distance of about 80cm. The projector could be used for only 15 to 20 minutes per charge.
