
Philips has introduced two new touchscreen phones to its range in the form of the X806 (pictured above) and C702. The X806 offers a 3.5-inch 240 x 400 TFT display, a 5MP camera, a 47MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. Meanwhile, the C720 is a CDMA 1X phone that features a 3.4-inch QVGA display, a 1.3MP camera, GPS, a 70MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. Both handsets are likely to be released in China pretty soon for unannounced price yet. More

Alcatel is planning on releasing Lego phones later this year. The concept of this phone is rather unique, it comes with snap-on pieces that let you change color of its various parts, I bet kids would love it. Pricing is still unknown. Stay tuned for more updates. [Engadget]

Inspired by a polished river pebble, designer Sachin Mistry has designed this artistic concept phone named ‘Granite’. This unique cellphone comes packed with a built-in 3MP camera, 3.1-inch touchscreen display, a solid state 8 gig drive for music, photo and general data storage. The device is also compatible with Windows and OSX, just simply connects it via Wi-fi or Bluetooth. Though the phone is still a concept at this stage, perhaps we’ll be seeing it in the near future. Finally an Obama-branded mobile phone has been launched in Kenya under the name of Mi-Obama. Produced by Mi-Fone, a company in some Asian and African markets, this candybar phone has “Obama” written on the back case, as well as the US Presitdent’s famous “Yes we can”. The phone itself features a 128 x 128 pixels display, FM radio and a Led torchlight. The phone retails for $30 – in Kenya. [Ubergizmo]
