BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) Video Preview Shows Up

Here’s a video preview of RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 (also known as BlackBerry Storm 9550). The video was posted by the folks over at CrackBerry showing the BlackBerry Storm 2 in action. According to them, this new smartphone uses SurePress technology for its touchscreen display which is more user friendly and features a much nicer hardware when compared to the original storm. Is The BlackBerry 9550 The Storm 2?

According to some sources, RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry 9550 smartphone is going to be called the Storm 2. However, there’s no official announcement just yet concerning this issue. So here are some of the specs you’ll find within the handset: a 360 x 480 resolution capacitive screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO Rev. A support, WiFi, OS 5.0 and supports both quad-band GSM/EDGE as well as single-band UMTS/HSDPA (2100MHz only) connectivities. The BlackBerry 9550 is likely to be launched by both Verizon and Vodafone by the end of the year for unannounced price yet. [Boy Genius Report via MobileWhack]

BlackBerry Onyx 9020 Picture Leaked, Optical Trackpad Included

Here’s the leaked picture of RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Onyx, aka BlackBerry 9020 smartphone that was appeared over at BlackBerry Underground recently. As seen from the picture, the Onyx 9020 was being paired with the Gemini in the background. However, not much info is given at the moment, but from what we heard, the Onyx 9020 should feature a 480 x 360 pixels display, an optical trackpad, GPS, 3G and WiFi connectivity. T-Mobile Releases BlackBerry Curve 8900

T-Mobile will release the BlackBerry Curve 8900 that we mentioned in December last year. The mobile phone will retail for $199.99 on a 2-year deal and after sending in a $100 mail-in rebate. As a reminder, the 8900 is also known as the Javelin. It supports full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.44 inch HVGA+ display, Quad-band GSM connectivity, Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth support, 512MHz processor and a 3.2MP camera. Sadly, it lacks of 3G connectivity.
