
Samsung today announced a new edition of the popular F480 touchscreen phone, which is known as the Samsung TouchWiz F488i. The phone features an upgraded “3x TouchWiz User Interface”, which includes Shortcut Pages and Extended Desktop, a 240 x 400 pixels LCD display, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, document viewer and a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash. The F488i also provides Online Widgets, Social Networking Widgets (MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, Flickr), Feature Tab Page View, and Photo Contracts. First introduced back in February, Samsung’s upcoming Blue Earth handset is finally making its way to Sweden this month, with France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal and other European and Asian countries to follow. As a reminder, this full-touch handset is equipped with a solar panel on its back cover that can keep its battery charged when exposed to the sun. The phone also comes with a built-in pedometer that will tell you how much CO2 emission you have saved by walking instead of driving. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Engadget]

Samsung in collaboration with Giorgio Armani have come out with their new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone. The handset was presented today in Milan by Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer himself, saying that it’s “the most fashionable phone he’s ever had a chance to talk about.” Specs-wise, this new smartphone offers a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, a full QWERTY keyboard, an 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, GPS and runs on Microsoft’s latest 6.5 OS iteration. The guys over at Samsung Hub have managed to get the latest informations including press image of Samsung’s upcoming second Android smartphone ‘Galaxy Lite i5700‘. Based on the informations they got, the phone will feature a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, Android 1.5 OS, a microSD card slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and support HSDPA connectivity. Sprint is set to release another smartphone from Samsung namely the Samsung Moment, Samsung’s first Android-powered phone. The handset will go on sale starting on November 1st for $179.99 with a 2-year contract agreement and after a $50 instant saving and a $100 mail-in-rebate. Samsung has officially announced they will release the Samsung F839 in China via China Mobile network. It is actually one of the first 3G handsets for China Mobile’s high speed 1X EVDO network. Measuring 115.1mm x 55mm x 12.9mm and weighing 109grams, the Samsung F839 supports 3G CDMA2000 (China Telecom) CDMA2000 1x EVDO 800MHz connectivity and features a 3.2-inch WQVGA (240×400px) 262K color touchscreen TFT display, a 3-megapixel (2048×1536) camera with a 30fps QVGA video recording, a DivX video playback, a 100MB of user memory, a microSD memory card slot (up to 8GB), a built-in GPS, an FM radio, Bluetooth, and a USB 2.0 port.
