RCom is set to launch a new Android smartphone in India namely the Samsung Galaxy i899. Touted as India’s first CDMA-based Android smartphone, the handset is equipped with a 3.2-inch 480 x 800 AMOLED touchscreen display, an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, a 512MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), DivX playback support, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1440mAh battery and runs on Android OS. LG Telecom and KT will release the Samsung Galaxy S as the Samsung SHW-M130. The South Korean version of the Galaxy S features a smaller display screen. The original Galaxy S has a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen but this version will have a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. The rest of features are expected to be the same. [SamsungHub]
Samsung has confirmed the availability of the Epic 4G (Galaxy S Pro) for the Sprint network. The Samsung Epic 4G is a high-end Android 2.1 smartphone that features a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen, Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA, GPS, digital compass, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 5MP AutoFocus camera with Power LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, a VGA front-facing camera for video calling, and a 1GHz processor. U.S. Cellular has announced the release date of the Samsung Acclaim. The handset will be released on July 9th, 2010 for $99.95 after mail-in rebate. The Samsung Acclaim features a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a physical sliding QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.1 OS, a 3MP camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, EVDO and an access to Android Market.
