
Toshiba usually doesn’t make smartphones, but recently, they submitted two to the FCC. Both the G910 and G920 should run on Windows Mobile 6, QWERTY keyboard has flat buttons as well as a thick appearance which makes it bulky to fit in pockets. Hopefully the final product is better than this.

Softbank’s Toshiba T-911 3G slider phone comes jam packed with an onboard TV tuner with recording capabilities and 3 inch LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Its display screen adopts the same technology that is used in the company’s REGZA line of LCD TV’s and protective glass covering to avoid internal reflections. Weighing 145grams and measuring 50mm x 106mm x 17.8mm, the Toshiba W56T mobile phone offers a 2.8 inch OLED screen (QVGA) which can rotate on 360°. The handset supports the 1Seg TV (Digital TV), Digital Radio, and LISMO (The iTUNES like from AU). The cell phone also has a 3.2MP AF camera, GPS module, PC Site web browser, Bluetooth, and a storage capacity of 800Mb. There is no info on pricing or availability so far.

The new Toshiba Portege G500 mobile phone will be available next month for around $600. It provides a unique and enhanced level of security, including fingerprint authentication to access the phone. The finger print sensor can also be used to navigate the phone’s menu and lock these devices. For security conscious mobile phone users who demand email and web connectivity in their mobile phone, the phone sports full wireless push email and Internet browsing that is able to take advantage of HSDPA and WiFi connections. What’s more, the handset also offers a 2.3” QVGA screen and excellent battery life. Sadly, this pocket PC phone is running the old Windows Mobile 5.0 for smartphone, though the company promised to provide an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.0.

Softbank Japan comes back with the Toshiba 814T clamshell phone. Measuring only 12.9mm thick, the 814T features a 2.4 inch QVGA display supporting 260k colors, a 2MP camera, and a Micro SD card slot. However, it lacks of many features like GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The Toshiba 814T measures 50mm × 101mm × 12.9mm and weighs 97 grams. It will be available very soon in Japan.
