LG Electronics will release the LG GD510 a.k.a. LG Pop in 15 European countries including the U.K. Measuring 97.8mm x 49.5mm x 11.2mm, the LG Pop features “Active Flash” UI with a 3MP digital camera, an MP3 player, an FM radio, a Bluetooth connectivity, and an external memory slot (up to 8GB). The company also launches solar charger battery pack dedicated to LG Pop. The company will also launch a solar battery back for the LG Pop. No word on pricing or availability so far. [AVING]
Philips has introduced two new touchscreen phones to its range in the form of the X806 (pictured above) and C702. The X806 offers a 3.5-inch 240 x 400 TFT display, a 5MP camera, a 47MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. Meanwhile, the C720 is a CDMA 1X phone that features a 3.4-inch QVGA display, a 1.3MP camera, GPS, a 70MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. Both handsets are likely to be released in China pretty soon for unannounced price yet. More
Samsung Electronics today announced the availability of their first full-touch phone designed to support the digitally connected lifestyles of today’s young mobile users. Known as the Corby (model: S3650), the handset supports Quad-band GSM support, EDGE connectivity, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen with TouchWiz UI, Bluetooth, a 2MP camera, an FM Radio, e-dictionary, an MP3 player, a USB 2.0 and a microSD card slot. Available in Jamaican Yellow, Cupid Pink, Minimal White, and Festival Orange, the Samsung Corby will be available in European countries starting from mid September for around 150 Euros ($215). Samsung will release the SCH-M830 WiBro phone in South Korea via SK Telecom. The Windows Mobile 6.1-powered phone supports both WCDMA voice call and WiBro data service. The handset has a 3.3-inch WVGA (480×800pixels) full touchscreen display, a built-in 2GB storage space, and a 3MP camera. No word on pricing at this time. [AVING]
According to rumors, the next RIM full touch screen BlackBerry Storm, called BlackBerry Storm 2 will be released in September this year. Here are several sample pictures the BlackBerry Storm 2. The highly anticipated Samsung Memoir has been released by Samsung Telecommunications America and T-Mobile. This touchscreen based handset has a 8MP camera with auto focus and 16x digital zoom, Xenon flash, adjustable brightness and flash, blink detection, face detection, anti-shake to reduce blur and geo-tagging. There are also five different shooting modes. Using the Memoir, you can record video for up to an hour depending on the type of resolution you use. Its TV-out allows you to share your favorite memories with family and friends. Other features include Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, widget support, 3G connectivity, a full virtual QWERTY keypad, haptic feedback and A-GPS.
