Nokia today introduced the new N9 pure touch smartphone at the Nokia Connection event in Singapore. Available in black, cyan and magenta, the Nokia N9 packs a 3.9-inch AMOLED display, a polycarbonate body and a choice of 16GB or 64GB internal storage capacity. The phone also has an 8-megapixel AutoFocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, a super wide 28mm lens, and supports HD video recording and true 16:9 resolution photos. Samsung will launch the SGH-t528g touchscreen phone in the US market via TracFone. The phone runs on Samsung’s proprietary OS with TouchWiz UI 2.0. The SGH-t528g also features a 3-inch touchscreen display, 3G support, a 2MP camera with video recorder, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a quick access to social networking sites. Sprint has started selling the Samsung Trender touchscreen phone on their website. Priced at $29.99 on a 2-year contract, the Samsung Trender comes jam packed with the TouchWiz UI, a sliding four-row QWERTY keyboard and a 1.3MP camera. This 3G smartphone also has an internet browser, GPS, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and a social networking integration. [Sprint]
Sony Ericsson today unveiled their first full touchscreen Walkman phone namely the YENDO. Measuring 93.5mm x 52mm x 15.8 mm and weighing 81 grams, this music phone features a 2.6-inch display screen with 262k colors and 320×240 resolution, a 720MHz processor, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a 2MP camera with 4x digital zoom, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) and a Micro USB slot. In addition, the Sony Ericsson YENDO comes pre-loaded with Facebook, Orkut, and Twitter apps, an FM radio, Java, Walkman player and TrackID. After releasing the Optimus G540, LG has decided to launch another new touchscreen phone in the UK. Dubbed as the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh, the phone should be available soon in the UK via Vodafone, Virgin, Phones4u and Tesco. FYI, the LG Cookie Fresh features the company’s Cartoon-styled UI and a simple SNS (Social Networking Services) connector, which allows direct access to Facebook and other services. The handset also comes with a WQVGA touchscreen display, widgets, LiveSquare, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headset jack, an MP3 player, an FM tuner/recorder, a 2MP camera, and a MicroSD card slot. LG has recently unveiled a new touchscreen phone namely LG Mini GD880. Dubbed as “the smallest and slimmest 3.2-inch full touchscreen phone on the market today”, the LG Mini GD880 sports HSDPA (7.2Mbps), Wi-Fi, A-GPS, FM radio, and a 5MP camera with advanced face detection.
