
The highly anticipated Samsung Memoir has been released by Samsung Telecommunications America and T-Mobile. This touchscreen based handset has a 8MP camera with auto focus and 16x digital zoom, Xenon flash, adjustable brightness and flash, blink detection, face detection, anti-shake to reduce blur and geo-tagging. There are also five different shooting modes. Using the Memoir, you can record video for up to an hour depending on the type of resolution you use. Its TV-out allows you to share your favorite memories with family and friends. Other features include Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, widget support, 3G connectivity, a full virtual QWERTY keypad, haptic feedback and A-GPS. Samsung offers the world’s first solar powered full-touch handset in the form of the Blue Earth. The phone comes with a solar panel located on the back of the phone, that generates enough power to make calls anytime, anywhere. The phone comes with an ‘Eco-Mode’ for setting screen brightness and backlight duration, and a Bluetooth energy efficient mode. Its “Eco-Walk” function offers a pedometer for calculating CO2 emissions reduced by walking as opposed to motor transport. The ‘Eco-Walk’ will also tell you how many trees you saved! [Akihabara]

According to rumors, Samsung is preparing for a new touchscreen phone called Acme i8910. The phone features better specs than the Samsung Omnia. It comes with GPS, WiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack, 8GB / 16 GB internal memory, and a 8MP camera with HD quality. [Slashphone]

The Casio CA001 comes jam packed with a 3.1 inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with autofocus, e-wallet support and video/audio-on-demand. What makes the handset cool is that it comes with a full touchscreen display, so you can use the phone without the need ot keypad. LG offers its dual Sim handset for the European and Chinese markets. Known as the LG-KS660, the mobile phone features a touchscreen display with a 5MP shooter, 8GB of internal memory, TV-out, and a USB 2.0 port. Pricing info is still unavailable so far. [Akihabara]
