
The much awaited BlackBerry Storm2 is finally making its way to Verizon Wireless on October 28th. This smartphone will be sold for $179.99 with a 2-year contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate (it requires “a voice plan with an Email and Web feature or an Email and Web for BlackBerry plan”). As a reminder, the handset offers a large 3.25-inch 480 x 360 capacitive touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera with autofocus and flash, a 2GB of onboard memory, a microSD/SDHD card slot (16GB card included), GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack, BlackBerry OS 5.0 and supports both UMTS/HSPA (2100Mhz) as well as quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM connectivities. According to rumors, HTC and Verizon will release two new smartphones under the carrier’s banner namely the HTC Imagio and Predator. The Imagio will come with a 3.6-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolution, a 3G connectivity, a GPS navigation and Wi-Fi support. The handset will be released on October 6th, 2009. The new Motorola Entice W766 phone is now official. Previously known as Motorola Harmony W766, the Entice is a simple clamshell that provides “one touch access to your favorite functions.” The phone supports CDMA 800/1900 1X/EVDO connectivity, a 2.2-inch internal TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels and 65k colors, VZ Navigator, Web browser, Stereo Bluetooth, a music player, a 2.5mm headset jack, a 2MP camera with video recording, a 35MB of internal memory, and a MicroSD card support (up to 8GB). Its battery provides up to 330 minutes of talktime and up to 395 hours of standby time. The Samsung Rogue and the Intensity are now available at Verizon. The Rogue features a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3-megapixel camera with flash and video recording, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity, a microSDHC support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, GPS and Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top of that Windows Mobile OS.
The Intensity provides a 2.1-inch LCD display, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, a microSDHC support and a 2.5mm headphone jack. Word has it that Verizon Wireless will launch a new HTC smartphone later this month. The HTC Ozone is scheduled to release on June 29th, 2009 via online and on July 13th, 2009 on the stores. Sadly, there is no info on pricing so far. Stay tuned for more updates. [BoyGenius]
