
The spanking new BlackBerry Curve 8530 is now available via Verizon Wireless. It is actually the first full-QWERTY BlackBerry from Verizon to feature RIM’s new optical trackpad and OS 5.0. The smartphone has a 2.5-inch LCD display with a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 256MB of flash memory. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo Bluetooth, support for microSD cards and dedicated multimedia keys. Casio has released their latest rugged cell phone for Verizon Wireless. Known as the Casio G’zOne Rock, the clamshell phone meets mil-spec 810F compliance for high shock, vibration, water, dust, and extreme temperatures. The phone also features touch-sensitive music controls, thermometer, compass, pedometer, a 2MP digicam with Flash, Stereo Bluetooth, GPS, and EV-DO REV A support. The much awaited BlackBerry Storm2 is finally making its way to Verizon Wireless on October 28th. This smartphone will be sold for $179.99 with a 2-year contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate (it requires “a voice plan with an Email and Web feature or an Email and Web for BlackBerry plan”). According to rumors, HTC and Verizon will release two new smartphones under the carrier’s banner namely the HTC Imagio and Predator. The Imagio will come with a 3.6-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolution, a 3G connectivity, a GPS navigation and Wi-Fi support. The handset will be released on October 6th, 2009.
