
Willcom Japan has unveiled the WX03A, which is known as the world’s smallest and lightest PHS cell phone. Measuring at only 32mm x 70mm x 10.5mm and weighing at 40 grams, the handset features a 1-inch OLED display and a microUSB port. Its battery offers up to 300-hour of standby time or up to 2-hour of talk time. Willcom will release the WX03A in the Japanese market later this year. No word on pricing at this time. [TechCrunch]

Japanese mobile phone operator Willcom today unveiled their latest handset, the Honey Bee 4. Developed by Kyocera (Kyoto Ceramic), the Honey Bee 4 is available in six candy colors to attract teenagers. The phone features an MP3 player, several games, a USB port and a large integrated mailbox that is capable to store up to 100MB of email. Its battery provides up to 700-hour of standby time or up to 540-hour of continuous talking time. Pricing and availability info is still unknown. [Akihabara]

The latest Willcom 03 smartphone has been unveiled at the 2008 CEATEC in Japan. I think it is a cool slider phone and I think you should buy it. The smartphone features a 3 inch display at 480 x 800 resolution, 1-Seg support, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 support, 2MP shooter, microSD memory card slot and Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Willcom today announced the Willcom 03, which is the first Windows Mobile 6.1 classic smartphone in Japan. The gadget is equipped with a 3 inch touchscreen LCD WVGA (800×480), two different types of keyboards(a keypad or a multidirectional pad), 256MB of memory, a microSD and W-SIM slot, a camera 2MP shooter with AutoFocus and a QWERTY keyboard. Willcom just released the X Plate cell phone that has W-OAM technology (Willcom-Optimized Adaptive Modulation) that allows a Japan-only handset to be used in China, Thailand or Taiwan with the proper PIM card. The X Plate features Internet browsing, Java and Flash support, and a 1.8 display. No word on pricing or availability for this model yet.
