The unlocked version of Samsung Omnia II is now available in Singapore for SGD$898 (US$618). The Samsung Omnia II is a Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone (upgradeable to WM 6.5) that features a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels, TouchWiz 2.0 3D User Interface, HSDPA/HSUPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 3.5mm headset jack, and a 5MP digital camera with Autofocus with DVD-like video recording. Samsung has decided to release two new windows mobile within next month. These two upcoming handsets will come in sliding and bar forms. The former is Samsung Louve which will be running in windows mobile 6.1 and features a QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, and omnia-like homescreen widget. The latter is Samsung Pivot which is the next generation of Samsung i780 and features a QWERTY keyboard, windows mobile 6.5, 5MP camera with flash, AGPS, and supports Wi-Fi. [mobilewhack]
Willcom today announced the Willcom 03, which is the first Windows Mobile 6.1 classic smartphone in Japan. The gadget is equipped with a 3 inch touchscreen LCD WVGA (800×480), two different types of keyboards(a keypad or a multidirectional pad), 256MB of memory, a microSD and W-SIM slot, a camera 2MP shooter with AutoFocus and a QWERTY keyboard. HP is about to upgrade their mobile series with Windows Mobile 6 operating system. The iPAQ VoiceMessenger 514 has been the first member of this new generation, which will also include integrated GPS functionality. The other series will be configured in the following way:
100 Series: The substitute of old the rz1710. Entry range PDA with no phone but at for a very low price
200 Series: PDA/PND (autonomous GPS) hybrids, replacing the range iPAQ rx57/59
300 Series: equipped with a VGA screen (replacing ancestral the iPAQ hx4700)
500 Series: medium range smartphones
600 Series: 3G PDA phones equipped with keyboard and integrated GPS.
900 Series: The successor of the HP iPAQ hw6915. Specially designed for business users.
The first devices from the new HP line-up will be released at the end of the year.
