Verizon Launches Entry-Level Escapade World Phone

Verizon Wireless has launched a new entry-level phone from Personal Communications Devices targeted towards globetrotters and jet-setters. Dubbed as the Escapade, this simple clamshell phone offers a 2-inch internal TFT display, a 1.1-inch external CSTN display, a 2MP camera, VZ Navigator capable, Mobile Web, Mobile Email, Bluetooth, a pre-installed SIM card and supports both dual band CDMA 1X and quad band GSM/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) connectivities, allowing users to place voice calls in more than 220 destinations worldwide. The Escapade will go on sale starting tomorrow, August 21, for $29.99 with a 2-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. [Press Release]
