Verizon Wireless is set to launch Sony Ericsson’s brand new PlayStation-certified smartphone ‘Xperia Play‘ on their network on May 26th. The handset will retail for $199.99 with a new 2-year contract. To refresh your memory, the Xperia Play features a 4.0-inch multi-touch display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 205 GPU, a 512MB RAM, a VGA front-facing camera, a 5.0-megapixel rear-facing camera, a sliding gamepad, seven games pre-loaded (Madden NFL 11 and The Sims 3 from EA, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Star Battalion from Gameloft, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior from Digital Legends, Crash Bandicoot from Sony, and Tetris) and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
